ATM Cash Replenishment

Answered by:

Question:
"We provide cash replenishment services for our offsite ATM located at a local convenience store. Due to staffing shortages, our branch manager has decided to send only one staff member for ATM servicing, as opposed to the usual practice of sending two individuals. Is this a safe security practice?"
Answer:

"It is strongly advised that cash replenishment services for an offsite ATM be conducted by an armored car carrier whenever possible. We do not recommend having a single individual service an outdoor or offsite ATM. When servicing an open ATM, it is challenging to maintain awareness of the surroundings. In the event of an injury to the individual servicing the ATM, management may find themselves in a position of having to explain this procedure in a court of law, potentially facing legal ramifications."
