Employee Contests, Prizes, and Rules

Answered by:

Question:
We want to run a contest by supplying undressed dolls to our employees to be decoratively dressed for Christmas. We intend to then ask our customers to vote for the best-dressed doll, and give a prize to that employee. We'll donate the dressed dolls to the Marines. Are we breaking any rules whatsoever?
Answer:

We had nearly the same question come up for a pumpkin face carving contest. No, to the best of our knowledge there is no rule covering this. It doesn't have to do with lotteries, drawings, or chances. It's a good cause, too, and should earn you some CRA points.
