The public making a video recording inside the financial institution

Answered by:

Question:
We had a situation where one of the tellers thought that an account holder was recording them. After reviewing video, we can’t see this happening but in this day and age of phones it is very possible that they did. What do you suggest to prevent this from happening in the future?
Answer:

We actually recommend a sign(s) be posted in your lobbies and other critical areas. The sign states, "No voice or video recordings allowed on premises!” Should someone comment negatively about the signs, staff can respond that the policy is due to privacy concerns for account holders. Social media is full of interactions with businesses and law enforcement where recordings are released causing negative reactions or publicity.
