Holiday Effort to Benefit Hurricane Areas

Bank of America said it will match 5 percent of all consumer debit card savings before December 23 that result from its own Keep the Change program, then donate the funds to Habitat for Humanity to continue that organization's home building efforts in the Gulf States. When consumers sign up for the Bank of America program, every purchase they make using their debit cards is rounded up to the nearest dollar, then the difference is transferred into their saving accounts from their checking accounts. Bank of America is also participating in NBC's Operation Home Delivery program, which is sending houses via barge to the hurricane-ravaged areas of the country.
