Congratulations to Kris!

Yay! Yay!

I thought it was the most entertaining finale they've had. smile
(I loved the performers - the "Music Royalty" as Ryan called them.)

I actually did watch last night, and I enjoyed most of it.

Glad I did.

What a show! Talk about a final! Even brought out KISS!!! Probably my only complaint about last night was having Allison sing with Cindy Lauper, I would have much rather see her sing with Joan Jett, Heart, Pat Benatar or Bonnie Raitt.

Kara ROCKS!!! She is my new IDOL! WOOHOO!!!

Did you see when they announced Kris, all the judges stood to clap, except Simon. He was sitting there pouting.

CONGRATULATIONS to KRIS!!!!

I didn't watch all season, but did watch Tuesday night and last night. I enjoyed the performances last night. But KISS - OMG - fat, old guys in makeup. Give it a rest already. And was Queen down to one guy left in the band?

I thought Rod Stewart was great; he still sounds good.

I honestly believe that Adam should have won, but America loves an underdog I guess. Congrats to Kris.

In such a good mood RITFL, I'm doing cartwheels grin

::But.....be on the look out, things could get verrrryyyyyyyy strange! ::

I also noticed when they announced the winner, they said how many votes there were, but they did not mention that the vote was close. If it was, I think they would have mentioned it.

To me - that says Kris won fair and square.

MB - I thought Rod Stewart sounded terrible. Hubby agreed.

Add me to that list, Pooh. I thought he was a very weak link in an otherwise pretty good show.

So who else thinks the whole Tatinana thing at the end was staged and rehearsed?

Absolutely staged and rehearsed, the security really didn't TRY to get her off stage.

Last night was fantastic. I loved the performance with Kris and Keith Urban. I was shocked that almost every performance I really enjoyed. I wasn't shocked that Kris won.

I loved that Adam almost seemed glad he lost to Kris. Even in his interviews after the fact for Idol Extra, he was talking up how happy he was for Kris, and Kris was talking up Adam. It was a beautiful thing. This year, I think we had two winners, regardless of who got the trophy.

Oh, and I about DIED when bikini girl came on and Ryan said he'd ask what's new, but he thought he knew! And when Kara came out behind her and belted out the song so much better, I was impressed. When she opened her dress to reveal a bikini, I was impressed with her guts as well.

I wonder how many times ole Rod has sung Maggie Mae?

BF, I loved the performance of Kris and Keith Urban too. By far my favorite of the night.

And whoever said Kiss was old, fat guys in makeup (or something to that effect), I agree with you too! I wanted them to just shut up and let Adam sing without their "help"!

I am curious what the difference in number of votes turned out to be. As I recall, Ryan did say last year in the David vs. David battle, seems like David Cook won by 17 million or some large margin.

I just expected him to be old and washed up, but I thought he still did a great job. Eh, guess that's why there's chocolate or vanilla.

I'd still love to see him in concert! Rod has always been one of my favorites, and I like his renditions of the old standards, too.

Agree on Kiss.. give it up.
Rod was terrible.
Loved Allison & Cyndi.. minus the weird, seizure looking dancing by Cyndi towards the end.
Didn't see Kris & Keith.. I leave the room for country.
Thought the bikini thing was hilarious.
I ♥ Norman. I'd go see him in a comedy show.

Regarding Cyndi Lauper.... Are we sure that was her? Her hair was so subdued and blonde, until she actually sang, I didn't recognize her and thought she was just there to play an instrument!

He mentioned Steve Martin as one of his comedic idols in his thank you speech for the award. I wonder if he knew that Steve was backstage and part of the show. I loved Martin's line in response to Ryan's question about who he thought would win - "I know it's a longshot, but I hope it's me." Cracked me up.

must be our "maturity" Poohie.....

he really isn't that much different from the 60's when he was lead for the Small Faces, no?

he is in better shape than some of the people from the 60's, just sayin'......
