I have been asked to put together some training materials for our employees - lenders and non-lenders. I have no CRA background and am wondering if someone would please steer me in the right direction of information that would be clear and easy to understand.

I plan on signing up for Lucy Griffin's Webinar on February 4, but would like to start my research immediately. Thank you in advance for any help or information you would be willing to share.

While it won't be everything you need for trainning, you can go to my web site and download a copy of an article written for the San Francisco Federal Reserve Community Reinvestment publication titled. "Avoiding Pitfalls of CRA Data Collection" It should give you some idea of where to start. Feel free to make copies and pass it out, The article is also posted here on BOL

IMO a key to training is in collecting the data accurately and how very important that is. That means a good understanding of definations for things like Small Business and Small Farm loans, Income/Revenue, Geocoding, Assesment Area and a hundred other things.

Don's article is excellent and I recommend it. But if you want to have a "wonderful" weekend, go to the Kirchman site and download the Big Orange Book - and spend the entire time reading it. It will give you all the info you need and more. You won't get anything else done but you can say you read it!
