Will be moving to a new position with CRA responsibilities. I have a general understanding of the regulation but never worked in this area. I've printed the Regulation and Interagency Q & A, including the proposed revised Q&A from FFIEC website to begin studying.

Can the CRA gurus suggest the best websites, tools to get started on the right track? We are an intermediate small bank.

Thank you so much for any and all help!

Honestly, one of the best things you can do is read the PE's from other institutions, especially the ones similarly sized as you and in your area. Get an idea of what examiners are looking at and try to re-create the tables from the reports with your own data.

OH, and read your bank's previous PE's too. smile

Dallas and St. Louis Federal Reserve Banks have good CRA/Community Development sites.

But your screen name says it all.....you really are crazy to return to this .....

Also, become familiar with the call report rules for schedules RC-C1 and RC-C2 that govern small business and small farm loans for CRA. Also the glossary, that gives examples of loan situations. Reporting small business and small farm loans should not be an exercise in a vacuum, it is dependent upon call report codes.

Thank you all for guidance. It is greatly appreciated.

Manimal, I went to FFIEC and FDIC websites but I can't see where to pull copies of PE's. I found ratings for similar sized institutions but not the actual PE. Am I looking in the wrong place?
