Way, way south.
Regarding CRA Service Activities, has anyone had any luck getting Rotary involvement counted towards their CRA Service activity?

Seems to be both business networking as well as charitable....

I have gotten credit for Rotary, although often times I wonder if I should be. My examiner really stresses that the primary purpose of the organization must directly benefit or target LMI's. I don't know if that's the Rotary's primary purpose, however, I have submitted it & they have accepted it. I usually have tons of documentation on the charitable things that the different chapters on our area do, which I am sure helps. And they truly do many things to benefit our community.

getting to be a tougher sell on these community service organizations. I suppose if you can get written confirmation from the organization that they clients served are primarily LMI, you have a shot.

Another thing arguing against these general service clubs and organizations is that its charter does not include any reference, much less a restriction, to meeting the needs of LMI.

But if you find yourself in a position that you need everyone action or involvement by your staff, then all that can happen at exam time is that an examiner will dispute and possibly not give you credit. Can't hurt to try ---

Curled up by the fire...
We have our employees specify what they are doing for Rotary...we get credit if they show that their participation with Rotary benefits LMI

Further South than I wanna be.
OUr Rotary club sponsors a camp for disabled and underprivaledged children and adults. It is free to them. Some of the kids live in group homes. But the examiners wouldn't count it. Said we couldn't prove it benefited LMI. I gave up on trying to convence them.

MB Guy you could send a long a letter asking that the funds be used to support groups, that support low or mod people or areas. This will show that your intentions were to help your partners (Rotary) on CD donations. You cannot prove what they did with the funds but your intention was that the funds be used for a CD purpose.
