What Happens When Customer Is Deemed Incapacitated

Answered by:

Question:
What happens when a customer is deemed incapacitated? Do we close the account? Do we continue to pay checks until the conservator opens a new account?
Answer:

Unless you were served with the proper court documents, how would you even know? If you were served with proper court documents, then you already know who the conservator/guardian is and no further actions should be allowed on the account until they showed up, including paying any checks or other orders after the date of the court order.
