CTR with $11,000 In. I'm second guessing myself. The Trust is listed in our core with one of the two trustee's SSNs, and one of them is the conductor as well. I still checked 2c for the Trust page along with the Entity box checked (on whose behalf transaction conducted). On second part I page, I listed the Conductor with box 2a checked (conducted on own behalf), and then the other trustee's part 1 page with box 2c (on whose behalf...).

My confusion is over the conductor's page. Because the trust is using his SSN, I think he's conducting on his own behalf.

Tell me I'm right.... so I can sleep tonight.

The transaction was conducted on behalf of the trust and not either of the individuals. The other trustee has no involvement in the transaction.

OK, so you're saying the conductor should have box 2b checked? Even though the trust uses his SSN?? Thanks rlcarey!

Yes, the trust is a separate entity regardless of the taxpayer ID that the trust is using.

I just was reviewing a similar CTR and this was a trust with 3 trustees. One trustee was the conductor. I verified it the same way Randy said - 2c for the trust/entity and 2b for the one trustee who was the conductor.

Not wanting to add any confusion, but I have seen an example in BSA training information where the trust is for the conductor only (ie: Jane Doe Trust and Jane Doe Trustee) and a CTR would then make the conductor, Jane Doe, a 2a.
