Bank North, Crivitz, Wisconsin, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the proper routing number of 075907112 for Bank North. The counterfeit items and the authentic checks are similar. However, authentic cashier's checks display a small compass in the bank's logo just above the joined letters B and N. Also, the counterfeit items do not include a title line below the signature line, and they indicate PRINTED IN CANADA on the reverse side. Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic cashier's check (VOID) are attached for your review.
