Counterfeit official checks drawn on The Ohio Valley Bank Company, Gallipolis, Ohio, are reportedly in circulation

The Ohio Valley Bank Company, Gallipolis, Ohio, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number of 051900353, which is assigned to Branch Banking and Trust Company, Wilson, North Carolina. The routing number for The Ohio Valley Bank Company is 044204370. Authentic checks are mauve color and have a foil emblem. The counterfeit items display a telephone number, which does not appear on authentic checks. A copy of a counterfeit item and a copy of an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review.
