RE: Counterfeit Cashier's Checks of Citizens National Bank, N.A., Bossier City, LA

The above-named bank has reported that counterfeit cashier's checks issued in the bank's name and using another bank's routing number, 011102133, are being presented for payment. These checks, along with fraudulent lottery claim letters from Tammy White, Shanier Management Payment System, 201 Meadow Lands Drive, Ottawa, ON K2E 7E8, are being mailed to various individuals. While law enforcement has seized a number of these packages, the counterfeit checks are already in circulation and are being presented for payment.

The counterfeit checks may be identified by the following: a stock computer check of an unknown color contains an incorrect ABA number of 011102133, an incorrect bank address of 9920 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport, LA 71106, and a fraudulent telephone number of 1-800-376-1094. The bank's name appears in both the top left corner and top left center of the check, but the bank's logo is missing. Also, a notice: “SIGNATURE HAS A COLOURED BACKGROUND,” is printed under the signature line at the bottom.

Authentic cashier's checks issued by the bank are blue in color and contain the bank's routing number, 111103524. The bank's logo, name, address and telephone number appear in the top center portion of the check. The correct address and telephone number are 2711 E. Texas Street, P.O. Box 6266, Bossier City, LA 71111; 318-747-6000. A notice appears under the term “CASHIER'S CHECK” that states: “NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS – THE PURCHASE OF AN INDEMNITY BOND WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE AN OFFICIAL CHECK OF THIS BANK WILL BE REPLACED OR REFUNDED IN THE EVENT IT IS LOST, MISPLACED OR STOLEN.”
