Subject: Counterfeit Money OrdersDescription: Riverside National Bank Date: February 23, 2006TO: Chief Executive Officers of All National Banks; All State Banking Authorities; Chairman, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Chairman, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Director, Office of Thrift Supervision; Conference of State Bank Supervisors; Deputy Comptrollers (districts); Assistant Deputy Comptrollers; District Counsel; and All Examining PersonnelRE: Counterfeit Money Orders of Riverside National Bank, Fort Pierce, FloridaThe above-named bank has reported that counterfeit money orders, issued in the bank's name and using a correct routing number of 067011142, are being presented nationwide for payment.The counterfeit money orders are of an unknown color but closely resemble the authentic items. The only difference appears to be that the counterfeit items contain handwritten date information. All money orders presented to date have been made out in the amount of $1,000.00.Authentic money orders issued by the bank are green in color and contain red and blue fibers. The bank's name appears in the top-center portion of the instrument with the words "Money Order" to the right.
