Counterfeit money orders bearing the name First Security State Bank, Evansdale, Iowa, are reportedly in circulation

First Security State Bank, Evansdale, Iowa, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit money orders bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 073922377, which is assigned to First Security State Bank. The items are similar to authentic money orders; however, the counterfeit items have frayed edges.

Authentic money orders are light blue in color, have straight edges, and include money order numbers in the top-right corner.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
