Counterfeit official checks bearing the name Mainstreet Savings Bank, Hastings, Michigan, are reportedly in circulation

Mainstreet Savings Bank, FSB, Hastings, Michigan, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit official checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 011007092, which is assigned to Mainstreet Savings Bank, FSB.

There are two counterfeit check versions:

Version 1: The counterfeit items display the words "OFFICIAL CHECK" inside of a rectangle with rounded corners embedded in the center of the top border.

Version 2: The counterfeit items display security feature statements embedded in a darkened top border and in the bottom border between two padlocks. The word "OF" in "PAY TO THE ORDER OF" is misspelled as "OR."

Authentic official checks display a security statement directly below to the top border and the number "2724" in the top-left corner.

Copies of counterfeit items and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
