Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Intercity State Bank, Schofield, Wisconsin, are reportedly in circulation

Intercity State Bank, Schofield, Wisconsin, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 075910992, which is assigned to Intercity State Bank, and a security feature statement along the bottom border between two padlocks. The bank's name appears in the top-left corner and the wording "Countersigned if Amount over $5,000.00" is below the signature line.

Authentic cashier's checks display the bank's name, location and telephone number in the lower- left corner. "VOID ONE YEAR AFTER ISSUE DATE" is displayed above the signature line.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic cashier's check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
