Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Horizon Federal Credit Union, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, are reportedly in circulation

Horizon Federal Credit Union, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 031302528, which is assigned to Woodlands Bank. Horizon Federal Credit Union cashier's checks are issued through Woodlands Bank, Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The items are dissimilar to authentic cashier's checks. The counterfeit items display a security feature statement embedded in a darkened top border. The bank's name, P.O. Box, street address, and location appear in the top-left corner.

Authentic cashier's checks are light blue with a border that varies in color: dark blue, dark purple or dark orange. The credit union logo, name, P.O. Box, address and telephone and fax numbers are in the top-left corner.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
