Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name The Apple Creek Banking CO, Apple Creek, Ohio, are reportedly in circulation

The Apple Creek Banking Company, Apple Creek, Ohio, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 041208748, which is assigned to The Apple Creek Banking Company. The items are blue and display a security feature statement embedded in a darkened top border and along the bottom-right border.

Authentic checks have a security feature statement under the written amount line and a padlock icon above "DOLLARS."

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
