Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Plattsmouth State Bank, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, are reportedly in circulation

Plattsmouth State Bank, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 104900750, which is assigned to Plattsmouth State Bank. The items are very similar to authentic cashier's checks; however, the items have a solid border and display a security feature statement below the top border.

Authentic cashier's checks have ornate borders and a "VOID" background when copied or scanned. A security feature statement is embedded in the top and bottom borders.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
