Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Macon Bank & Trust Company, Lafayette, Tennessee, are reportedly in circulation

Macon Bank and Trust Company, Lafayette, Tennessee, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.
The counterfeit items display the routing number 064106283, which is assigned to Macon Bank and Trust Company. A security feature statement is shown along the bottom border between two padlocks. The words "Cashier's Check" are top-centered with the word "Date" appearing directly below. The word "Remitter" is displayed in the lower-left corner. The bank's location and a telephone number, which is not associated with the bank, appear below the bank's logo and name in the top-left corner.
Authentic cashier's checks display the routing numbers 064101204 or 064106283. The words "CASHIER'S CHECK" (in all capital letters) are top-centered. The word "Purchaser" appears below the bank's logo and name in the top-left corner, and the word "PURPOSE" appears in the lower-left corner.
Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
