CornerBank, National Association (known as CornerBank, N.A.), Winfield, Kansas, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 101101109, which is assigned to CornerBank, N.A. The items are similar to authentic cashier's checks; however, the counterfeit items have a security feature statement embedded in the top border, which has rounded corners. A security watermark that displays a picture of a knight and the word "FINGERPRINT" is displayed within the signature area. A pink heat sensor is located in the lower-right corner. The words "Purchased For" are displayed in the lower-left corner.

Authentic cashier's checks have a vertical security feature statement along the right border. The bank's logo, name, P.O. Box, city, state, zip code and telephone numbers are displayed in the top-left corner.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
