Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Citizens and Famers Bank, West Point, Virginia, are reportedly in circulation

Citizens and Farmers Bank, West Point, Virginia, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 051404901, which is assigned to Citizens and Farmers Bank. The items are similar to authentic cashier's checks; however, they are light brown and display a padlock security icon just inside of the right border. Authentic cashier's checks are yellow and display a padlock security icon embedded within the right border.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
