Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Broadway Bank, Chicago, Illinois, are reportedly in circulation

MB Financial Bank, Chicago, Illinois, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's former name, Broadway Bank, are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 071002419, which is assigned to MB Financial Bank. The items are very similar to authentic cashier's checks. However, authentic checks are yellow and display the security feature statement "CHECKS OVER $1,000.00 REQUIRE TWO SIGNATURES" below the payee line.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
