Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Timberwood Bank, Tomah, Wisconsin, are reportedly in circulation

Timberwood Bank, Tomah, Wisconsin, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 075918130, which is assigned to Timberwood Bank. The items are similar to authentic cashier's checks; however, they display the word "REMITTER" in the lower-left corner.

Authentic cashier's checks are light red in color with a marbleized background. The bank's logo (trees) is displayed behind the bank's name in the top-left corner.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
