Full Service Banking On Sunday?

Remember the "good-ole-days?"

That's when your institution opened at 9:00 a.m. and closed at 3:00p.m., except on Friday, when it was open until 6:00 or 8:00 p.m.

In case you hadn't noticed that banking is changing, let us update you a little.

Some institutions are trying some new things. Hours, for instance, like those set by Glendale National Bank in New Jersey. They decided to try Sunday hours. They opened drive-up windows at three branches, two windows at each branch, from noon until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

By the third Sunday there were lines waiting at noon, and the tellers were working just about to capacity for all four hours!

In California, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Michigan and Texas it is not unusual to see a full service branch in your supermarket. And when they say "full service," Wells Fargo, in California really mean it. Their supermarket branches will even offer safe deposit boxes for rent!

We've already noted the ATM's in the post office.

And debit card capability in department stores, gas stations, and food stores.

Do you get the feeling that it might not be out of the question to see point-of-sale terminals or ATM's in church pretty soon?
