Retired Bankers Make A Difference

Working with the Mayor's Voluntary Action Center, Chase Manhattan Bank in New York has started a Retiree Volunteer Program.

They contacted people who have retired from the bank and made them aware of the agencies that needed help. Those who expressed interest in volunteering will have a short training course sponsored by Chase, and then will work at homeless shelters, schools, hospitals, museums and other non-profit institutions. One of the most popular of the areas is that of tutoring.

Over 300 retirees have already signed up for the program.
