Bank Robbery Prevention Tips

From an Architect

The nation's newspapers have published more articles about bank robberies this year than in any time in recent memory.

As you gear up for the holiday season (do it now - you won't have time after November 1st), consider how you would answer these prevention questions published in the July 1995 issue of Independent Banker, posed by Curtis B. Wayne, a Connecticut-based architect:
Does each of your facilities have more than one entrance to the lobby?
Can you observe the teller area from outside the facility?
Are customers using your night depository and ATM enclosed in a well-lighted and secured area?
Can bank personnel service the night depository and ATM from a well-lighted and secured area?
Is there a secured path from the teller area to the vault?
Do cameras cover all entrances and exits, and the vault?
