Privacy on the Internet

In an earlier issue, we discussed a different kind of privacy than that referred to above. Vice President Gore presented a comprehensive privacy action plan that he called an "electronic bill of rights."

Financial institutions are quick to react to consumer needs, wants and demands-and towards that end we asked Mary Beth Guard, an attorney whose life is now absorbed by the internet for Thompson Publishing at www.bankinfo.com, to provide BANKERS' HOTLINE subscribers with something they could use as an internet privacy policy so their customers would know their information is being carefully guarded.

The sample policy is included with this issue as a separate page. Read it carefully, please, and make sure you are doing what you include in your policy!
