Need Help with Privacy Training?

The FFIEC has a privacy resource on its website that is pure gold for any compliance manager. There are three elements that are of value. First are slides and videos of the program used to train examiners. If you have wanted to attend examiner training - so that you knew as much as they did - but weren't allowed in the room, here is your chance to get the same training without travel. Just log on, follow directions, and get educated.

Second, the website includes resources on privacy. All pertinent laws, regulations, model forms, and agency issuances relating to privacy (including pre-G-L-B issuances) are on the site with links to the documents. You can request them in a variety of ways including chronological order or by agency.

Third, the site contains links to other privacy sites maintained by the regulatory agencies and by private entities. While not a complete source of web sites, these are the sites your examiners are most likely to visit. So if you want to know what your examiners know, check this out.

The material can be found at FFIEC's website, www.ffiec.gov, by clicking on the button titled "InfoBase on Financial Privacy."
