Cash Drawer Automation

Source Technologies recently introduced an integrated hardware/software system that automates the cash drawer, thereby freeing tellers from the task of cash counting. The system integrates the company's teller vault and cash recycling products so that tellers insert cash into the machines instead of counting it themselves. The machines then integrate with the bank's currency tracking system so that cash updates are provided immediately and teller cash needs are evaluated and reported instantly.

According to Source, that means more eye contact with customers, less chance of internal fraud and less error in end-of-day cash balancing. Banks get real-time views of the bank's cash and denomination position for every teller in the network.
