This "Standing-In Line" TV Break Was Brought To You By...
Selected stores in five cities-New York, Atlanta, Columbus, Detroit and Los Angeles-now have TVs in supermarket checkout lanes.
While customers are waiting in line at some A&P, Kroger, Waldbaum's and Food Lion stores they can watch and listen to news, weather, sports, music videos, and...commercials! Not just supermarket ads, but ads about automobiles, airlines, and local businesses...including financial institutions?
Seems like a natural, doesn't it?
Let's hope the marketing experts from the banking industry can come up with ads that will make us feel better about the grocery prices! Maybe a jingle...
"Twinkle, twinkle, all's not lost,
Over budget by a large amount.
You'd worry less about the cost,
If you had our Grocery-Saver account!"
