Dennis Deischer, National Bank Examiner, Office of the Controller of the Currency was participating in a peer group session of medium size financial institutions at the BAI Conference in Orlando in April. In discussing some compliance issues, one banker complained that it seemed that every year there were more and more compliance requirements, and more areas where the financial institutions can get into trouble.

Dennis very quickly replied, "Nothing can get you in more trouble in the compliance area than ignorance."
