Can It Be Programmed To Bring Coffee?

Welcome to the future! Security Technology News reported in their July 27, 1993 issue that robots are very much "on duty" in today's world. They say robot sales last year rose to $590 million.

The new, sophisticated robots can patrol halls, museums, warehouses, and operations sites and can be outfitted with CCTV cameras, heat, gas and humidity sensors, optical flame and motion detectors and other equipment. They can run up to 12 hours with their "battery hearts".

Once used only for commercial cleaning, and undersea and space exploration, new and innovative uses are being developed every day for robots. We surely will be adapting them to use in the financial industry. Security Officers probably already have a list of jobs for them!
