What's In Store During '94?
After the beating the financial industry has taken the past few years, bankers can hardly wait to see what the new year has in store for them in 1994. The outlook of the "experts" is interesting, to say the least.
The focus last year shifted slightly from insurance and failed institutions to regulations and money laundering. We are again seeing a shift. This time the attention is going back to fair lending and the Community Reinvestment Act, according to those who take the pulse of the industry.
But the subject boasting the most priority in our business right now is that of regulatory agency consolidation. Until that is settled, it probably will be more difficult than ever to get answers from your regulator.Be patient.
