Free Parking - Courtesy Of The Secret Service
Who would guess that closing off Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House in Washington would benefit two banks?
Riggs National Bank and NationsBank have side-by-side branches bordering the area. As a matter of fact, you can take a look at the location on the back of a $10 bill.
Their problem with the location was that there was no place to park in order to do business in the banks. By closing Pennsylvania Avenue six parking spaces were created. They are clearly marked by the Secret Service warning that the spaces are reserved for bank customers. They even moved barricades back to give customers room to park and to make a U-turn to return to traffic.
