The Stake-Out Paid Off
After robbing 26 Florida banks during the last three years, the thief was arrested parked outside a bank, sitting in the front seat of his car with a gun alongside of him.
He had not harmed any bank employee until his 26th robbery, when he kicked a teller who was lying on the ground. The Manatee County sheriff's office, in a determined effort to catch him, staked out 30 detectives and deputies at banks considered potential targets. Tellers' descriptions were extremely accurate, and the stake-out paid off when officers recognized the robber the minute he pulled into the bank parking lot.
