Helping Domestic Abuse Victims

Boston Private Bank & Trust Company showed its support for community groups dedicated to battling domestic violence by financing a transitional residence for the victims of such abuse.

The bank and investment management firm provided a $500,000 loan to buy the residence and to be combined with an $80,000 grant awarded by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston's Affordable Housing Program. The home will house nine women and their children and help them to get back on the road to self sufficiency and independent living. The residence is a renovated building acquired by The Second Step, a program for violence victims.
