Bank Of America Customers Get Instant Image Access
One of the world's largest processors of checks, Bank of America, has taken the first step in rolling out a check imaging system that will allow its customers instant online access to check and deposit slip images. Online customers in Georgia and Tennessee can now view and print images of canceled checks and deposit slips from their own computers rather than waiting days for copies to be mailed. The technology will go nationwide in March 2003, making Bank of America the largest bank to offer such service. To access the system, online customers simply sign onto the bank customer Web site to see the front and back of checks or deposits that have cleared in the last 45 business days. They can also forward the images to show proof of payment or deposit. The company is offering the service free of charge.
