A comment on commenting

HMDA looks deceptively straightforward. However, as we work with it, we continue to discover areas of ambiguity. The Federal Reserve Board staff are committed to providing clarification, but to do so, they need input from you. Your questions help them to recognize areas to clarify and your information keeps them up to date on what the industry is doing.

You needn't wait for a commentary proposal. Call or write the FRB now. All you have to do is dial the number and ask to speak with a staff attorney who works on HMDA. You can reach them at (202) 452-3667 or (202) 452-2412. Your information and questions will be used to develop the next commentary update. Keep these phone numbers handy. They will get you to the FRB's Division of Consumer and Community Affairs - the right place for any consumer regulation issued by the Federal Reserve Board.
