Question & Answer

Question: We plan to sell investment products in our supermarket branch. Since there is hardly room for the branch, how do we create a separate area for investments?

Answer: You don't need to go over to canned vegetables. You can stay within your space. However, this is a good example of when you need to be careful and creative. One thing that makes an impression on customers is making an appointment. This makes the meeting seem different from dropping into the bank to open an account.

In a supermarket branch, you might take the customer into your tiny little meeting area and ask them to sign a disclosure before discussing product options. This would be one way to impress upon the customer that this product is different from bank products.

Look around your supermarket area and see what you can use to make the sales situation different from the routine bank product transactions.
