Grace Period for Flood Insurance

FEMA has announced a temporary grace period for flood insurance contracts. The agency is providing this grace period because of delays in postal service following the September 11 terrorism attacks. Ordinarily, there is a 30-day grace period for receipt of flood insurance premiums. FEMA is extending this grace period by 10 days for all premium renewals with a grace period that ends between September 11 through October 1, 2001.
