because it's election day:
THE BLUE STATER
Serves: 1
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 teaspoon superfine sugar
1/2 teaspoon Canton ginger liqueur
8 fresh blueberries
2 ounces No. 209 gin.
In a shaker, combine the lime juice, sugar, ginger liqueur and blueberries. Muddle until everything is well mixed. Add the gin. Fill with ice, shake and strain into chilled cocktail glass.
THE RED STATER
Serves: 1
3/4 ounce Wild Turkey 101-proof bourbon
1/2 ounce vodka
1 teaspoon fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon grenadine
Combine all the ingredients and shake well with lots of ice. Strain into tall shot glass.
