I, for one, would have no desire to be the 100,000th - I think it should be MB, and although I don't see posts from her today, I think at 99,999 everyone should pause - no posts - and allow Mary Beth to have the honor. Just shut off all other forums and threads except this one, and if someone dare try to steal the 100,000 honor, they shall be scorned in BOL infamy forever.

Nice idea Dave, but how are you going to get everyone to pause and not post?

I'm not - was meant to be a joke (except the part about not wanting anything to do with happenstance making a post of mine the 100,000th). Although, if I had the hypnotic/osmosis/transiligiogical powers to disconnect all BOLers keyboards, I would use that power in an heartbeat to make it happen

If it isn't today, I'll lay odds on the weekend. Hopefully it will be in a publicly available forum. I and others do a lot of guru answers on the weekend and they wouldn't show to everyone.

And as Richard noted, hopefully the 100M post will be something meaningful in its own right and not just big because of its number.

So, come Monday, who'll start the list for projecting post no. 200,000?

The other problem I see is that you really have no way of knowing what # your post will wind up to be, when I clicked in to type this, it looked as if this should be 99553, but what really happened? The only way I'll know what number this post really is is to check it after it appears back in the forum. (and I'm a touch typist so I type fast.)

3 more hours for East Coast, but we have 3 more after that on the West Coast. Might be some late night attendance out Texas, Alaska, Arizona and Calif way. Oops almost forgot we have Hawaii Bol'ers which is another 3 hours added

I, too, would gladly hand over my keyboard to MB. She has accomplished something that was unthinkable until very recently. Other than Usenet discussion groups on Windows or other mega-topics with world-wide audiences, I wonder if BOL will set a record for a professional discussion facility?

I'm excited too and will post a couple of times today because this is my last day for two whole weeks! Hope the new threshold is reached first, . . . before the deficit reaches another untold number, thanks to the tax relief checks

Based on one of her last posts she was in CO at the GSB. She may be traveling.

Sine we can all adjust BOL to our local time, are we using Central since BOL is out of OK? (If it comes to that.)

And Richard, I almost wish you'd have not brought this up. Now I look at the post # before I read the content.

What did you say? I was reading the post count.
I've been doing that all morning.

I wonder if there is a way for the site admins to disable the post count view (at least temporarily?) It would keep us from getting 'tainted' results.

Now less than 400 to go. That hundred took just over an hour. Looks like we could be into the e-bubbley before the east-coasters head for the traffic jams.

Mary Beth is traveling back home today from spending a week teaching in Boulder otherwise I am sure she would get a great kick out of this thread --- and would be answering the "What will I get for the 100,000 post" --- I don't have an answer to that all important question but I am sure it will be something!

Well ring her up on her cell and tell her Dan Rather and a camera crew will be waiting for her when she gets home. BOL gets better ratings than he does!

No, no! I think it is only fitting that Zavoina get the 10,000th post - considering 69% of all the posts here are his . . . he owns the place!

He probably did. Today we're going for the grand prize-----100,000!

I'm just a renter like y'all.

I'm also going to sneak out 30 minutes early since I came in early and go to the movies with my family. SO if we hit it during the business day, someone page me. BR549 and enter your number.

Waaaay high. That was just a number or related to this thread, I don't know. But I do have to work at my bank too.

Sorry, my bad "too much coffee math". 6.8% of 100k. Still a huge chunk.
