Hey, if she is a good teller, its not a lot of money. Just buy the nontoxic wite out: Wite Out Or better yet, just buy her some Elmer's Glue. Non toxic and any kindergartener can tell you that it tastes great--just peal it off after it dries on your fingers.

This must be disruptive to her co-workers. Very bizarre. We've never seen anything like that here, but I liken it to employees who pass gas often. We speak to them since it is disruptive to the other employees in the office. (maybe they're eating something like tacky finger that gives them gas???)

Just when you think you've heard it all...
I believe that white-out is considered a hazardous material, and I understand (not from personal experience) that sniffing white-out is addictive. You may want to check with the health department or other officials. After all, if she consumes it on bank time, and it's hazardous, your bank may be liable....
Ugly?

Tell the dumb xxx to stop eating the white-out, Jesus.
(Edited comment: I wouldn't accept this on a teller line, I certainly wouldn't deem it appropriate here either.)

My thought was that we may have had a teen visitor, but that would be tarring all teens with the stereotype of bad manners. I agree with your assessment that evidently Brydenn wasn't raised right and is probably better off ignored.

correctional fluid

It's kind of funny, but I remember seeing this thread awhile ago; then, over the weekend I saw in the Boston Globe that middle and high school kids in Dorchester, MA, were stealing large quantities of fast-drying correctional fluid from the schools. Apparently there is a substance in the fast-dry process which resembles a controlled-drug response similar to a benzodiazapine (sp?) that these kids get -- something similar to the glue sniffing and quick-dry paint-spray inhaling that the kids also do. Whatever the result, it can't be too good on the brain cells.

There is a nontoxic version. Why don't people just buy that or does it not work well.

Correction fluid is used quite a lot in "huffing," where the substance is poured into a paper bag and inhaled (VERY DANGEROUS--DON'T DO THIS). That's probably what most of those kids are doing who are stealing it. Eating it is probably a rare occurence.

BTW, the teller (who was spoken to by the branch manager) is now out on disability... Her husband said she was having really bad headaches. Go figure, maybe she'll stop now that she is home.

Does your company have an employee assistance program you can offer to her?

At my previous bank, We had a girl who used wite out for her french manicure nail polish and sniffed it all day. I think this is now a "high" school thing!
