Somewhere in the middle
Allison - may have the curse of going first. Her performance wasn't her best, but it was good.

Annoop - Probably one of his better vocal performances.

Danny - I didn't think this was one of his better ones, but did show and get a lot of emotion from the song.

Adam - Like what Hoosierland said, I too prefer country, but the boy has amazing talent.

Kris - I think this was the first time you could really hear his voice over his music. Very moving performance (I think this reached out to the girls more than the guys). He has really impressed me more each week.

Matt - Not one of his better performances last night, may land him back in the bottom three.

Lil - I just don't think she has it. I think someone said it last week, she will be a good back up singer. I thought at times it was a little nasaly.

Bottom three = Lil, Allsion, Matt, going home Lil.

Bottom three...
Anoup
Lil
Matt

Going home (hopefully)...
Lil

Anoup can go, too. I just want Matt to stick around for another week or two.
My fear is that Alison will be in the bottom three because she went first, but I don't think she deserves to...

Kris and Adam were definitely the best of the night.

Allison - Kind of weak to me especially early on in the song, but she is growing on me with her talent and authenticity.

Anoop - He needs to be singing soulful R&B. Very nice.

Adam - Until he started screaming lyrics, I really enjoyed it. BUT, I still think he's a music theatre guy playing the roll of a rocker in a musical.

Matt -Loved the beginning, but he lost it a little midway through, and ended so so.

Danny - Did he look strange without his glasses, or what?! Started a bit slow, but great ending. He needs to use his power and vibrato. That's his strength

Kris - WOW! I will buy his CD. The only question left in my mind is, can he beat Adam, Danny, and Allison to make it to the finals?

Lil - Well, she looked great.. Sigh.

Bottom 3: Allison, Lil, Matt

Going Home: NOONE! I predict Allison will be slotted to go home, and the judges will use their save.

When he bites the head off a bat, we'll all know he's playing the roll of Ozzy.

Or, when he hires attorneys to sue people who own iPods for downloading his music, we'll know he's playing the roll of James Hetfield.

Neither my husband nor I had ever heard of the movie or the song either, BF. I'm surprised he would pick something a bit obscure considering all the movie songs that are out there--it may hurt him some in the voting.

At least nobody sang the Titanic theme song. I thought for sure that Lil would have tried it! laugh

I thought Lil was horrible last night - I am so sick of her but she is still convinced that she is talented. She won't listen to anything the judges have to say. Who in blazes puts a gospel touch to The Rose?

Sorry to disagree with anyone who likes Matt but he butchered one of my favorite songs last night. I'm done with him too.

It wasn't Alison's best performance last night but she is still great IMHO.

Anoop can go, go, go - I'm bored with him too.

I always find myself looking forward to Adam's performances - he is extremely original and different. He may win but I would rather see it go to Alison or Danny.

But Danny disappointed me last night - it was too karoake.

I love Kris - not only is he charming and cute but the boy can sing!! He just seems to be getting better and better to me - it is probably that he is gaining confidence as well.

If they want to save time why don't they do away with the lame intro's to each performance. It's the same thing over and over - the guest says "wow, I like what they can do and they will bowl over the audience if they do it like that" Blah, blah, blah - just do the performances already. I would actually hear what some of the judges (except Paula) have to say then to watch the stupid intro's.

How about keeping the show two hrs long, and let the contestants sing the complete song?

I actually did miss hearing all four judges criticize each singer.

Well if they had anything worthwhile to say I wouldn't mind but how can they say "they're great" seven different ways without sounding like idiots which is what they sound like to me. Perhaps that is their "payment" but I find it to be a waste of time - just like talking about the contestant's home towns, etc. Too much superfluous information that is not relevant but as a time waster.

At least Paula was prepared. She had her comment for Danny before she even heard him.

Simon Kara and Randy are usually pretty good with their criticism and I think it helps them.

I'm betting the other two judges will get their say tonight during the results show. Even if they don't, the judges and contestants meet up after the live show to talk in more detail.

I wondered, too, if the ones who didn't get any judging comments from Simon might have a slight advantage in the voting last night. I think he is generally fair and accurate (if not kind) in his comments, and I think there are a lot of people who vote based on what he has to say about the performances.

I just thought it was funny that they cut down the time for judges comments and still ran over on time at the end of the show. Why not just schedule it to end at 9:05? There are some other shows out there that do that.

I agree, Hoosierland. I think Simon's comments make a difference in the voting as most people (except those emotionally or personally involved) believe his opinions and feel he has worthwhile comments to make.

They actually did have the show scheduled to run until 9:01 but they overran that time as well.
