Newsflash!!!!
Books that Amazon.com Inc. sells for its Kindle electronic reading device will also be available on cell phones, too.
Amazon spokesman Drew Herdener said Friday that the Seattle-based online retailer is working on making Kindle books available "on a range of mobile phones." The company is not yet saying when the books will be available, or on which phones.
A new Kindle will be unveiled next week......

has anyone read "the secret"? a friend recommended it to me over the weekend, and i'm afraid it's going to be a really cheesey self-help type book. (i'm all for self help, but not the shlocky kind.)

I read "the secret" and I felt it was the "prosperity gospel" message minus the religious aspects. Sort of like a Joel Osteen sermon minus the biblical references

Just finishing "Wicked". Not sure if I like it or not, but it is an interesting read. Would anyone like it when I am done with it (over the weekend)?

I know its an Oprah Book (which for many people is an immediate turnoff) but I am reading the The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski and it is a wonderful, engaging book. The character development is superb and it is very suspenseful (plus it has dogs as an integral part of the plot). Even if you have hated every other Oprah book, this book is one for book lovers!

Hold Tight by Harlan Coben I like Harlan Coben's books, but I hope he never again narrates one of his own books (I'm an audiobook addict). He's a good writer, but the man can NOT read out loud. Khalid Hosseini did a fabulous job with 'The Kite Runner' -- his accent and accurate pronunciation really enhanced the story. Right now I'm listening to 'Homeport' by Nora Roberts -- yeah, it's good ol' romantic suspense. Before that, though, I spent 16 hours with Christopher Reich's 'The First Billion' (all those Russian characters!) so my brain wants a break from anything requiring too much attention.

Anybody read Eragon by Christopher Paolini (sp?)? I have someone trying to talk me into reading this series but I'm not convinced yet. Definitely read them! They don't 'feel' like YA books, and even thought they are considered high fantasy they are easy to get into. I loved them and can't wait 'til the 4th one comes out! I haven't read these, but I stumbled across another YA book that I really enjoyed. My absolute favorite book of all time is 'Lottery' by Patricia Wood, and I loved the narrator (Paul Michael). I was looking for other things he'd read, and found "The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp" -- what a fun adventure! There are a few sequels, but none available in audiobook format that I've found yet.
