Still have "The Fountainhead" and "We The Living " in the queue.
Anything to get the taste of tripe of Howard Zinn's history texts out of my mouth.

Wait till you get to John Galt's speech near the end of Atlas Shrugged. That'll put you to sleep.

I enjoyed "Atlas Shrugged". But then, I'm weird - as my daughter tells me constantly.

I'm almost done with All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris. I got sucked into this series big time...no pun intended! I've really enjoyed them. As much as you enjoyed Kisten?

I read IT, Night Shift and started the Dark Tower series (I think I got through the first 3) in high school. I've sense turned into a scaredy cat and only read vampire fiction. HA!

I've never been much of a re-reader but I may try and re-read the Rachel Morgan books this winter...before the next one comes out. Although I don't know if I can put myself through that again emotionally! I'm such a dork... I re-read them periodically, but am a big enough dork to just skim through that particular part in an attempt at avoiding the tear-fest. I do the same thing with New Moon re-reads (or did, until Breaking Dawn killed the series for me). I read a lot of Stephen King in high school and college, but (like JLJ) am now too chicken. Sometimes my memory of things I've read is a little *too* accurate and that stuff has stayed with me....and not in a good way. Especially Gerald's Game. I still check the backseat when I get into a vehicle after dark. I had to put IT down in the middle, though. No book has ever scared me like that one did.

*snort* I have "under the bed" issues, as well. Partly due to Pet Cemetary, but more to do with my older brother hiding under my bed and grabbing my feet one night when I was 5 or 6.

There was only one part of IT that i thought was scary - i think it was that i saw the crappy made-for-tv movie (with Tim Curry as pennywise) that made it easier to read. (They are making it into a movie again, this time it will be in theatres, either 2010 or 2011).
I know nothing of the Dark Tower series, so i'm excited to start it.
The story about The Boogeyman in Night Shift was read to me by my older sister when I was 8. I still will make sure my closet is COMPLETELY closed when i go to bed.

As cheesy as the movie was, I'd read enough of the book before seeing it to still nearly wet my pants. And I'm afraid of clowns, anyway.

I just finished Ted Dekker's "Skin" - good book, suspenseful Oh good to know! I love Ted Dekker and this is near the top of my book list! I haven't read many of his books yet. But I loved Three and I am getting ready to start the Circle Trilogy. I love the action and suspense in his writing.

My 15 year old Son actually recommended "The Book Thief" by Marcus Zusak. What a great book! Everyone I have recommended it to so far has loved it.
