I am currently reading the newest book from Dan Brown. I'm about 2/3 through it and must say, it's kind of a let down. It doesn't pack near the punch his previous books did. I am hoping that it really picks up and moves starts to move along quickly, or at the very least have an excellent ending since I'm starting to make that turn.

After that I am going to read John Adams. I'm looking forward to that one. It's the book they shot the mini-series on HBO about. It's extremely long so it will probably take me a while. I'm not a very fast reader. I tend to read like I'm reading it aloud.

I'm currently reading John Irving's latest novel, Last Night in Twisted River. It is terrific, one of his best, in my estimation.

Deek, did they base the movie off that book or is it coincidence?

I am on #4 of the Dresden books. I tend to read other books between them... Just to change things up a bit.

I wish I could do this. I'm a little OCD when it comes to catching up with a series.

You can become a fan of Janet E's on FB and stay updated on things. She has little quick response contests also.

out of the frying pan...
I have to go to the bookstore tonight. The new Lilith Saintcrow "Flesh Circus" is out today as well as the MMP edition of MaruJanice Davidson's "Undead and Unworthy."

Oh, and Miss Banker - won a signed HB of White Witch, Black Curse in a page count contest when it first came out. grin

My Kim Harrison, Janet Evanovich, and Laurell K Hamilton collections are all mixed paperback and hardback. It offends my OCD, and I'm going to have to start replacing one with the other. I just haven't decided yet which direction to go. Maybe I should work on full collections of BOTH types since I've nearly destroyed some of my pb's reading them repeatedly?

god what a dork I am..........

I'm about the same way with the mixture of book types in a series. However, I'm not going to replace because I hope to have one of the electronic book readers before too long and will down load my favorites to it. The hard copies will then be sold at a yard sale or given away.

Reading the Eragon series - on #3 right now and closed to being finished. They're OK - I find them highly derivative, but I do want to see where he goes with them.

I'm crossing my fingers that a new George RR Martin will come out early next year - he's been working on it but is now distracted by the filming of the pilot of "A Game of Thrones" for HBO. [And the casting, which is distracting me!, is A. Maz. Ing.]

Oh! and I am also reading Jack Finney's "Time and Again" which is really a good read.

Slightly off topic: Oldie But Goldie - Just have to say that I love my e-reader. I don't miss "dead tree" books at all and I haven't purchased any DTB since I purchased my e-reader in Aug, 2008. I could just go on and on about it, but I'll just stop and say I hope you get one soon.

I finally finished Darkness on the edge of town by J. Carson Black- good book.

I finally recognized myself as a book buying hog. I can't stop buying books. I can't wait to have time to read them all. I also need more places to stack them.
