Just the fact that she knows my hometown band the Thunderbirds, is good enough for me. No 19 year old would have even heard of them. However, just one more test--what was their one MTV hit (hint: it wasn't Tough Enough although they did play that a little bit)?

Tiny tells me that Louvera is in. Though he wants to know if Louvera knows the show on which they were married.

Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki were married on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Is that good enough to get me in? If not that, what if I told you I was old enough to see Grease at the theatres and I don't mean for the 25 year re-release.

MC and Z, I am only working a half day today, so pour me two bloody marys with 17 olives in each!

Hmmm, it seems to me that Dave has been taking an awful lot of 1/2 day Fridays. How does he do it? (maybe the big head has something to do with it??)

I still have three weeks vacation to take, so I am going to be taking a lot of half days! (Ok, I know, nor bragging) - give me the micropohone, MC, but I would prefer "Heartbeat It's a Lovebeat" by the DeFranco Family please.

All Right--A new saloon in town! Let's check this place out. First the rules--

#1 - I'm not guaranteeing my sobriety and I am NOT going anywhere with them red-legged "regulators".

#2 - Can you remember when me and Mr Favor used to drive the herd up the Sedalia trail and ya'll used to watch us in black and white. Well I guess that should qualify me as far as age goes. And by the way Tiny, this here Marshall's badge says I don't check my guns for noone. You never know when one of them darned red-legged regulators will show up!!!!

#3 - That black and white Appaloosa tied out front is my "designated driver" and he always gets me back home in one piece. Although I have been drug by one stirrup a few times. If you got any oats behind that bar, I'll need two bits worth for him also.

#4 - Tiny can hold the Appaloosa's reins if'n he wants to, but if he gets too friendly with him, he best know he bites.

Now if that's all acceptable to Mr. Clean and his new pard, I'll have me a shot of your best red-eye and a beer chaser.

Have fun all!!!!

How nice, Dave, I am glad to see you are utilizing your time away from BOL in a productive manner.
The condo association did ours on Tuesday!

Well, I can’t link to a picture because of our firewall, so hopefully the one on BOL will suffice.

I remember:

Captain Kangaroo with Mr. Green-jeans, Grandfather Clock, Tom Terrific, but for the life of me I can’t remember the bear’s name.

I also saw the theatre release of Grease, Animal House, Blazing Saddles and also The Graduate, and Midnight Cowboy. I also remember watching the Beetles on TV arrive in the US for the first time and on the ED Sullivan Show. (I also remember watching Elvis’s first appearance on ED Sullivan with my mother and aunt.)

I also remember being 15 and seeing Dolly Parton when she was 16 debut on the Porter Wagner show. There were a couple of things about her on that show that left a lasting impression.

Just remembered one other thing that might help convince you of my age. My freshman year in college I saw LITTLE Stevie Wonder in concert.

I adore Stevie Ray & Jimmy. A girl I used to work with is a cousin of theirs - they are from around here originally.

I remember watching the first man walk on the moon on a black and white television. Sorry Dan, don't remember the Beetles first performance in America, though. Except on re-runs.

Ok, so I don't remember as much as everyone else, but I do remember watching the Challenger on tv when I was in 1st or 2nd grade.

I saw the moon landing. I was watching a small black and white portable TV in Yokohama Japan. My announcer probably sounded different than your announcer.

Clint- here's the bottle and that beer chaser!! Don't you light that cigar in here!! It's OK to chew on it, but Tiny has asthma and if you light it he might have an attack. And you'd be next!!

dpersfull--Most of your story checks out, but I have never heard of the Beetles, so I don't know how old you might be--unless of course, you are talking about the VW. Maybe, you meant the Beatles. Please move to the back of the line and speak with Tiny again. We suspect that you may have heard these stories from your grandparents.

Tiny--I agree to let in the guy with the 44 Magnum. Who am I to argue--Clint, you are in like Flynn.

ExGovtBabe--Your ID test is to tell me what part of the Dallas area the Vaughan Brothers are from.

elena--you are already in, but for your next visit, it is Vaughan, not Vaughn.

Gah, I'm not sure I remember precisely. Oak Cliff, maybe? How about if I say I watched the moon landing too? Of course I was only about 2 but I do remember it.

Its been about and hour and a half since this place opened. Based on the frequency of posts it is one of the fastest growing establishments west of the CPU. Y'all don't raise a ruckus now and burn down the broadband lines with this volume.
